What To Expect

Al Zubara Fort
For our ancestors, Al Zubarah was a thriving pearl fishing and trading port. Now it’s Qatar’s largest heritage site, with its impressive city wall, ancient residential palaces and houses, markets, industrial areas and mosques.

It’s one of the best-preserved examples of an 18th and 19th century Gulf merchant town and in 2013 was named a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Al Khor
Also spelled Al Khawr means "sea on threesides" in Arabic. Older than Doha but far smaller in size. Al Khor is located an easy 50 kilometres to the north of Doha. It used to be the center of the pearling industry in Qatar but lost its importance after the introduction of cultured pearls. It now boasts a scenic harbour where you can find traditional fishing dhows, a corniche leading to mangrove colonies and a museum showcasing the fishing, pearling and dhow building industries.

Al Thakhira Beach
The mangroves colony is not only a major tourism product for Qatar but an important natural environmental resource for Qatar. It provides a natural habitat and a sanctuary for birds, fish and other animals as well as prevent coastal erosion.

This was an amazing tour! You get to see beautiful landscapes and much of Qatar.
But the best thing was travelling with Adnan. He is the best guide I've ever had. I learnt a lot from him, and he was kind, friendly, patient, and flexible with all my requests. I can't recommend him highly enough.
Only great memories of this day!

I wanted to see more than Doha in Qatar and I wasn't disappointed. With Adnan, an experienced guide and a careful driver, we drove from Doha to the north.
With many stops on the way.
He gave me good explanations of every important buildings, sites and the culture of Qatar. We visited a fishing market, we stopped to see the mangroves, the Zubara Fort and an abandonned Qatari village.
It was very interesting and no stress with him, he takes the time that we need.
I recommand Adnan as a guide, I really enjoyed talking and joking with him (he has a very good sense of humor).
Thank you!
